  Awesome waterside views, great service, price was average for a seafood resturaunt. We ordered stuff flounder and crab cakes, portions were better than your big box seafood restaurant and tasted amazing. We live in Richmond and never heard of The Blue Heron restaurant, it was a lazy staycation around the house and we took a ride out of town and ran upon this little waterside restaurant by accident. It is a little hike through country roads but a beautiful drive and worth the trip. Definitely look up this hidden little restaurant, great experience we will be back!

  Right on the water. Great views. Decent seafood. Average price. Good service. Best way to dine is to drive up in your boat, tie it up, and sit in the sizable outdoor seating area.

  We've had GOOD meals and experiences here but, last night was not one of them! Each person in our party of four had a problem with their food. Our server was efficient and attentive; problem with food was not her fault.
  I don't know if ownership has changed or what the reason is for our "less than" experience. Three of us got baked potatoes that looked as if they'd been baked too long and then reheated...nasty looking and tasting! Their coleslaw was fresh and tasty but the oysters were fried too hard, as well as some of the fish. The small garlic cheese biscuits were very tasty. Our experience, and the price we paid for it, was NOT worth the 35 mins drive we made to get there!
  We love the view but, last night's experience will keep us away for a long time. To complete a bad experience, we exited the restaurant and found that the pool, up on the hill, was being cleaned/serviced and a steady, deep stream of water was flowing between us and our car. My friend and I got our dress shoes filled with water. I wanted to give the "pool man" a piece of my mind but, my husband forbade me.
  So, I hope he'll read this! The restaurant closes at 8 pm; couldn't the pool draining take place after patrons have departed?
  
  So disappointed because we L O V E D this place before!

  Beautiful view of the water. Seafood was very good. Po Boy sandwich was very good. Crab cakes were also very good. It was busy. Many locals eat here.
